HEALTH PRECAUTIONS 2024
I am fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID, MPox, seasonal flu and RSV. If you have any feeling of illness, malaise, cough, cold, fever, shortness of breath, etc. please wait until you are well.  Cancellations due to health concerns are always OK.

1. What are the benefits of massage?

Massage is a noninvasive form of bodywork that benefits everyone.  Circulatory/Lymphatic, Swedish, Shiatsu, Deep Tissue, Sports, Hot Stone and Reflexology are a few specialty areas you might encounter. Relief of pain and tension, endorphin release, better circulation, lymphatic drainage and detoxification are the benefits. With massage you enjoy attention, comfort, caring and touch.  Therapeutic and relaxing, massage boosts mood and well-being.

2.  How should I prepare for my massage?

TIME:  First, be sure you have enough personal time reserved for your massage!

You don't want to be in a hurry--this is YOUR time, enjoy it!  Please arrive on time (plan on traffic, etc.). If delayed or arriving early, text or call.

We will start by talking about your health and lifestyle as it relates to your massage, and review any previous session notes.  This time is not counted as massage table time.

WATER:  Drink LOTS, starting the day before.  And after! Massage cycles lymphatic fluid through your tissues and stimulates circulation; toxins and metabolic waste trapped in tissues (like lymph glands) are gently released. These are "peed out" to flush toxins from your body.

HYGIENE:  Please shower before your massage. You can also shower here.  Trim toenails and fingernails if possible, because I will be manipulating them.  Avoid cologne and deodorant, please.  Wear casual clothes, or if coming from work, bring loose clothing for the trip home.

HEALTH:  Please be ready to discuss any issues that may be relevant to your massage -- injuries, accidents, artificial joints, pacemaker, diabetes, neuropathy, skin conditions, circulatory issues, edema, etc.  Most issues will be OK for massage, or we can work around sensitive areas.

3.  What oils or lotions are used?

What if I have a nut allergy or preference?

I use a variety of different oils, lotions and balms depending on the client's needs and preferences.  Oils include: coconut, almond, apricot kernel and jojoba..  Oils are unscented but can be scented with lavender, eucalyptus and other essential oils.

ALLERGIES: Please let me know in advance if you are allergic to any food-grade oil, or other oils.

4.  How about incense and aromatherapy?

I enjoy an environment that smells as good as it feels...so I may burn some  Japanese and Tibetan incense, or Palo Santo wood. If you have chemical sensitivities and prefer scent-free, please mention in advance.

5.   How private is Everyman Massage? Any pets or roommates?

Everyman Studio is a dedicated and quiet massage space!  There are no roommates, people or pets living here, and no interruptions from delivery services or other clients.

6.  What about $$ payment and gratuity?

Cash is great. Also Zelle, Venmo and CashApp.  A small fee applies to Credit Card (secure via Square).

A gratuity is never expected, but always appreciated if you'd like to express special satisfaction with the session.

7.  What about showers and amenities?

Everyman Studio is a private bungalow with toilet and shower, so you can refresh on arrival or after.  Towels, shampoo and body wash are provided.  Please factor in additional time for your session.

8. How about alcohol or cannabis/420?

If you want to bring a beverage to enjoy before your session, or your favorite cannabis vape/ flower or rub, that's cool. I may even have some on hand.  Please DON'T drink heavily before or after any massage.  It will interfere with your detoxing and may become unpleasant as you process the alcohol through your skin and lungs.

9.  Where's the entrance to the Studio? Where to park?

Everyman Massage Studio is on a broad alley in beautiful and quiet Belmont Heights.  You willl park nearby but cannot park in front.

It's a very safe area with lots of free parking; so park on E. 3rd Street or nearby and text me so I can come and bring you in.

NOTE: STREET SWEEPING Thursday and Friday mornings--read signs!

10.  How to make/change an appointment?
After our initial contact you'll have my cell number.  I  make real-time appointments by text, not by app or email unless required by you.  Same-day appointments are sometimes possible but I only see one or two clients a day, and am typically booked in advance.

Once your appointment is confirmed you will receive details about parking and pre-massage preparation.

NOTE:  If you need to change or cancel your appointment, or are running late, please alert me ASAP.

If you are going to arrive EARLY, give me advance warning, I may not be ready until your scheduled time. There are local coffee shops if you are very early.

11. What about Cancellations?

Cancellations less than 24 hours in advance may incur a $50 cancellation fee,

No-shows and last-minute cancellations (less than 12 hours in advance) will be billed in full.  You are asked to honor your commitment unless there is a serious emergency.

12. Are Same-Day sessions available?
Same-day appointments are sometimes possible, but I am typically booked in advance.
